Hello Explorers!

For this month we have chosen "The Heretic's Daughter" by Kathleen Kent!

Please use this post's comment section for your discussion, but if you get a wild hair and have a specific topic you want to discuss feel free to make use of your author abilities and publish a separate post!

Enjoy!

(I apologize for the delay on this post, that won't normally be the case, my computer's operating system stopped responding so we had to figure that out in time for me to finish finals, so...here we are.)

  1. I'm halfway through and I feel like it is going nowhere. It doesn't seem to have a plot. I thought it was going to be more about the mother and the witch trials.

    1. Agreed, I am only on Chapter 3 and I don't necessarily dislike the way it reads because it reads much like other historical fiction novels I've read, buuut I so far have heard nothing about the witch trials, just hints about various family members being bad or getting back at her mother or father...really, so far, the focus has been on her father rather than mother.

  2. After reading the whole thing, I have only two things to say. First, I enjoyed the descrptiveness of the book. Details were pure and really put you in the scene. Second, there was no real plot. We eneded up in the same place we started. I would have been much more interested to see the father's story rather than this sad tale.
